The very first thing to do is to create an account on Once you sign up and login, follow these steps.

Step 1: Create your Database Connection

Login to your .Net Report Builder account and click on “Setup Database”.




Next click on “Add a new Data Connection”, choose a name for database connection and enter the Connection String Key Name from your web config file.



Step 2: Add/Manage Data Tables

There are two ways to setup your database schema in .Net Report Builder. One way is in the admin section online. Another easier option is to use the "Admin Setup Project", that you can download here. You have to open the Admin Setup project in Visual Studio and run it locally. Once it opens in your web browser, click on “Click here to Connect and Start” button:




Enter your database connection settings and your Api keys from your .Net Report Builder account. Click “Test Connection” and it should show the tests completed successfully. Then click on “Save and Continue”.




On this screen, you should see all the tables and views in the database connection you specified. You can select and setup tables and columns that you would like to show in the .Net Report Builder Wizard for users to select from.




Step 3: Manage Relations

Once you have selected and saved your Tables and Columns, you have to login to your .Net Report Builder account and setup the relationships. After logging in, choose “Setup Database”, select your Database Connection from the Dropdown list, and click on the “Relations” tab.




Manage your Table Joins and click “Save”. That’s pretty much it, and now you are ready to add .Net Report Builder to your Project.
