Dotnet Report gives you powerful and flexible charting options to visualize your data. Depending on the fields you select and the visualization type you choose, different settings and customization options will be available. You can easily switch between chart types, update formatting, and adjust colors after running the report.

When creating or editing a report, you can pick from multiple visualization options. You can choose among several chart types to view grouped and aggregated data:
- Bar
- Pie
- Line
- Combo
Once you select a chart type, Dotnet Report provides specific configuration settings for that visualization.
Bar Chart
- The first selected field will be displayed on the X-axis.
- Additional numeric fields will appear on the Y-axis.
- Options include:
- Horizontal Bar Chart
- Stacked Bar Chart
Line Chart
- Best suited for showing trends over time.
- X-axis represents categories or time periods.
- Y-axis plots numeric values.
Pie Chart
- Displays values as proportions of a whole.
- Best used for comparing percentages or parts of a total.
Combo Chart
- Lets you combine multiple series using different chart styles (e.g., bars and lines together).
- Useful when comparing trends across different metrics.

Depending on how your database is set up, different information will be stored in different tables. Users can choose fields from more than one section to populate their report. As with the other report types, the fields selected for the report will be summarized in the “Selected data for the Report” section as shown below. For bar graphs, the first field in the list of selected fields will be chosen for the x-axis of the report and all the other fields will be displayed on the y-axis. The y-axis fields need to be numeric to be displayed.
Running and Customizing Chart Report
After clicking “Save & Run Report”, the bar graph will be displayed as shown below. The main information is displayed on the bar graph and a displayed below it with the same drill down functionality available in the Summary Report.
