Clicking “Save & Run Report” will generate a completed report. Reports in dotnet Report Builder are not static reports. These reports have a host of different functions that they can accessed by the end-user. Below is a sample of a Summary Report.
All the green circled numbers are different ways to interact with the report. These actions are described below:
- Pressing the “Back to Reports” button will take the end-users back to the dotnet Report main page allowing them to access other reports and folders.
- Pressing the “Edit Report” button allows end-users to edit the currently open report and change any settings, such as adding more data fields, or managing filters, schedules, etc.
- dotnet Report Builder uses the built-in printing capabilities of the internet browser being used to access the software. All options for printing (such as page layout, size, etc.) that the browser supports are available to dotnet Report Builder.
- Clicking the “Export to Excel Button” will initiate a download of an MS Excel file with all the data in the report. This button only downloads the top-level data and does not download the drill-down sub reports.
- This button allows users to refresh the report after they have changed any filtering options using Filters on the Fly.
- This section allows you to scroll through all the pages that make up the report. dotnet Report uses server-side paging. This mean that the additional data is loaded only when the user clicks the next page button, resulting in a very fast user interface.
- Summary type reports that have drill-down sub menus can be opened by clicking on the plus sign to reveal the sub report.
- Click this button to download sub-reports in Excel format.
