dotnet Report Builder allows reports to be created with the filtering options visible on the actual report. This allows end users to change the filtering conditions without having to edit the report every time. This function is called “Filter on Fly”. In the report designer window, selected data for the report is displayed in the “Selected data for the Report” section as shown below:
To display a filter on the actual report, click the Filter on Fly button and create the same filter in the “Filters” Section as shown below:
The generated report will now display the filter as shown below and the end-users can quickly refresh the report with different filter conditions without having to edit the report.
