Creating a New Dashboard In Dotnet Report

Dotnet Report is a powerful and user-friendly reporting tool that enables you to build, view, and manage custom reports and dashboards with ease. Its drag-and-drop interface and intuitive report builder help users gain actionable insights from their data — without relying heavily on developers.

One of the standout features of Dotnet Report is the ability to create dashboards — dynamic workspaces where multiple reports can be grouped together, arranged, and customized for real-time data monitoring.

Prerequisites

Before creating a new dashboard, ensure:

  • You are logged in to the Dotnet Report application.
  • You have access to “Add/View Reports.”
  • At least one folder contains saved reports that you can use.

Steps to Create a New Dashboard

  1. Navigate to “View/Design Dashboard” after logging in.

  1. On the Dashboard page, click the “Create a New Dashboard” button.

3. A multi-step pop-up will appear, prompting for the following setup:

  • Dashboard Name (required)
  • Dashboard Description (optional)

  • Select Reports from available folders and saved reports

  • Manage Access (if Admin Mode is on):
    • Manage by User (allow edit)
    • View only by User (no edit/delete)
    • Manage by User Role (allow edit)
    • View only by User Role (no edit/delete)
  • Note: User-level access overrides role-level. No selection implies access to all.

  • Set Email Schedule:
    • Frequency (e.g., Daily)
    • Time (e.g., 12:00 PM)
    • Time zone
    • Schedule start and end dates
    • Email recipients (comma-separated)
    • File format (e.g., Excel)

Click Create to finalize the dashboard setup.

Your dashboard is now created and appears as a tab above the workspace. All selected reports are displayed within the dashboard for easy access and visualization.

Creating dashboards in Dotnet Report is a quick and flexible way to visualize multiple reports in a single space. Whether you’re tracking KPIs, department performance, or sales metrics, dashboards provide a consolidated view to drive faster decisions. As you build more dashboards, you can access them easily via tabs, each tailored to a specific purpose.
