What’s New In v5.0.3?
We are excited to announce the newest update to Dotnet Report. This update includes new features to help you get the most out of your reports and data analytics.
The Key New Features include
1. Search for fields in the report designer
2. New ”CSV” aggregate option
Fields Searching in Report Designer
Dotnet Report allows you to configure reports quickly and easily. To configure a report, you need to select a table from the dropdown list and then select any table’s column to use in the report.
The reporting tool now provides an additional feature to make this process more convenient, the field search box. This new search textbox allows you to search for columns across all available tables.
To use the field search option, open up the Dotnet Report and create a new report. Then, go to the “Design Your Reports” section.
Under the “Choose Data for Report” section, you will now find the field search box. When you start typing in the box, the system will start searching for columns across all the tables of the database. The results of the search will be displayed in the dropdown, showing you the table names followed by the searched column name.
For example, if you type in “customer”, the search box will search for all columns containing the word “customer” and show them to you in the search box. The format of the results will be: #Table Name# > #Searched column Name#.
After you have selected an option from the search results, the column will be selected and available to proceed with the report. This allows for a faster way to select columns, especially if you have too many tables and columns available to choose.
CSV Aggregate type US States Map, and others
Another option in the reporting feature is also introduced, which is the “CSV” option in the grouping section of the reports.
With this new option, customers will now be able to view consolidated string grouping of their data in a single row. For example, if you wish to view the total order amount per day for different cities, the report view will now be as follows:
How it Works
Start editing an existing report and go to the summary section. In the summary section you can aggregate the selected report columns as per your need.
Select CSV option against any string column to view consolidated grouping against it.
Note: CSV grouping will only work for string columns
This option gives customers the ability to easily view consolidated string grouping in order to generate more accurate and comprehensive reports. This feature is available for all customers, and we are confident that it will help users generate more comprehensive and accurate insights.
We hope these new features add even more value for your users using Dotnet Report. If you have questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer support team.
