Running Reports Within the Same Page: No Redirects Needed
We have introduced a seamless and streamlined report execution experience in this release. With this update, users can now run reports without being redirected to a different URL, providing a smoother and more user-friendly experience.
Key Features:
Seamless Report Generation: Users can now initiate the report execution/generation process directly from the user interface without any visible URL changes throughout the entire flow. This means that when you click on “Run Report”, the report generation process will smoothly take place on the same page.
Editing Reports Instantly on the Run Report Page
Introducing a new enhancement to DNR that provides users with a more seamless and efficient experience while editing reports. With the “Edit Report” pop-up feature, you can now make changes to your reports without getting redirected to the main page, and then running the report again.
Key Features:
Edit Report Pop-up: When viewing a report, the “Edit Report” button will not redirect the user back to the main page. Upon clicking this button, the report editor will open in the same page now, allowing you to edit the report parameters, filters, and other settings faster.
No Need to Re-Run: Unlike the previous workflow, you no longer have to re-run the report immediately after making changes. The edits you make within the pop-up will only be applied to the focused report when you choose to save and apply the changes.
Effortless Save and Run: After finalizing your edits, simply click the “Save and Run” button within the pop-up Report Designer. This action will apply all the changes to the focused report instantly.
Modifying Field Settings During Report Execution
With this latest release, users can now make changes to any column without the need to re-run the report immediately. The new “Field Settings” feature allows you to edit and apply changes to columns right from the executed report page.
How it works:
Execute the Report: Start by navigating to “Manage Reports” and selecting the desired report. Run the report to generate the results.
Edit Field Settings: Once the report results are displayed, you will notice a sort icon against each column. Simply click on the sort icon for the column you wish to modify.
Open Field Settings: Clicking on the new “gear” icon will show the “Field Settings”.
Modify Settings: The pop-up window will provide you with an intuitive interface to make changes to the selected column’s settings. You can customize the field properties, adjust sorting options, and apply other relevant modifications.
Save Changes: After you have made the desired changes, simply click the “Save Changes” button in the pop-up window.
Note: The changes made in the “Field Settings” pop-up will only apply to the focused and opened report, without the need to re-run it immediately. This streamlined process ensures a more efficient and user-friendly experience while managing your reports.
Switching Dashboards and Editing Reports/Widgets on the Dashboard
Switching Dashboards or Editing a Widget/Report on the Dashboard does not redirect the user or reload the page, ensuring a better, streamlined experience. It focuses on improving the dashboard running functionality by eliminating any visible URL changes during the entire flow.
Top Filters Displayed in the Dashboard
This is significant enhancement to our dashboard functionality in this release. With this update, we are introducing the ability for dashboard users to apply “Filter on Fly” on all dashboard widgets/reports simultaneously, enabling quick data analysis and comparison across the entire dashboard.
Key Features:
Apply Filters on All Dashboards: Users now have a new option available to apply filters across their dashboards at once. This feature saves time and effort when analyzing data across multiple reports/widgets presented on your dashboard. Before this update, the user had to individually apply the filter on each widget/report.
Interactive Modal for Filter Selection: Upon selecting the “Apply Filters on All Dashboards” option, a modal or dialog box will appear, presenting users with a list of available “Filter on Fly” criteria.
Multiple Filter Selection: The modal allows users to select multiple filters and set their desired values effortlessly. This flexibility empowers users to tailor their data analysis precisely as per their requirements.
Confirmation and Consistency: After selecting the filters and values, users can simply click the “Apply” or “Update” button in the modal to confirm their selections. Once confirmed, the selected filters will be applied to all dashboards simultaneously, ensuring consistency in the data view across the board.
With this latest update, we aim to streamline the data analysis process for our dashboard users, offering them the convenience of applying filters effortlessly across all their dashboards in one go.
Maximize Screen Functionality During Report Execution
This feature enhances your reporting experience – the ability to maximize the display of your reports. Now, when running reports, you can make the most out of your screen real estate, especially when dealing with reports containing a large number of columns, enabling you to efficiently navigate and analyze the data presented.
Key Features:
Maximize Report Display: A new “Maximize” icon has been added to the report interface, easily accessible to the users. Clicking on this icon will instantly expand the report view to fit your screen size, and snap the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page, while maintaining the aspect ratio and ensuring the readability of the data.
Optimal View of Data: The maximized report view takes advantage of both vertical and horizontal scroll capabilities, ensuring that all columns and rows can be easily accessed and viewed. Now, you can efficiently explore your data without any limitations.
Seamless Transition: You can effortlessly exit the maximized view and return to the regular report view without losing any applied changes or configurations. Just use the “Exit Maximize” option, and you’ll be back to your familiar reporting environment.
How to Use:
